Congratulations Joshua Ames – Helen Hay Whitney Fellow!
Joshua is a postdoc in the Oberst lab. He earned his PhD from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2021. He is broadly interested in the idea that environmental sources of inflammation can reprogram cells to express chronic inflammatory signatures that may be associated with age related pathologies such as cognitive decline or chronic pain and inflammation throughout the body. His current focus is to study this in the context of virus-host interactions in the central nervous system. His long-term goal is to lead an interdisciplinary group of researchers to better understand chronic inflammation. Congratulations Joshua on your Helen Hay Whitney Fellowship!
