UW Immunology’s impact seen and felt at 2023 Gates Grand Challenges Annual Meeting!

Pictured here are former UW Immunology Professor Christopher B. Wilson, MD, who served as department chair from 1999-2009; Erica Andersen-Nissen, PhD, currently a Principal Staff Scientist in the McElrath lab at Fred Hutch, who earned her PhD from UW Immunology in 2006 and studies the influence of early innate immune responses to HIV vaccines on subsequent adaptive immune responses and systems biology analyses of how immune responses are shaped; and Catherine Blish, PhD, currently a Professor of Medicine at Stanford, who earned her PhD from UW Immunology in 1999 and studies the diversity and biology of human natural killer (NK) cells, the role of NK cells in viral immunity, and immune signatures of human pregnancy.
