Why I chose UW Immunology
Seattle is a stellar place to be an immunologist! The University of Washington Department of Immunology is a highly regarded program, with strong ties to other great Seattle immunology research programs at Fred Hutch, Seattle Children’s’, BRI, etc. Immunology biotech is booming here as well, which allows for great opportunities for interactions between industry and academia.
Activities and Interests
Brewing beer, playing hockey, camping, snowboarding, hiking, spending time with my German Shepherd ‘Happy’, fostering rescue dogs. Seattle has a fantastic microbrew scene, an amazing wealth of outdoor sporting opportunities, and a relaxed, dog-friendly vibe.

More about me
I study genetically-engineered T cell therapy against cancer. Specifically, I am studying the effects of the lung tumor microenvironment on adoptively transferred therapeutic T cells, and developing strategies for overcoming hurdles to the efficacy of these treatments in solid tumors.
