IMMUNOLOGY SEMINAR SERIES
The Department of Immunology seminars feature lecturers who discuss the latest advances in immunological research. Seminars are held Tuesdays at 9:30 am during the academic year; all seminars are livestreamed via zoom. These events are open to the UW community. See the Seminars Page for a list of seminars.
RESEARCH IN PROGRESS (RIP)
The Department of Immunology presents weekly programs featuring graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Each week, a graduate student and a postdoctoral fellow present their current research activities and findings, with opportunity for audience questions. Research in Progress (RIP) is held Thursday’s at 3:30 p.m. in Orin Smith Auditorium at South Lake Union during the academic year.
DEPARTMENT ANNUAL RETREAT
The Department of Immunology holds an annual two-day Department Retreat (usually in mid September) prior to the beginning of the academic year. The Retreat provides an opportunity for faculty, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and staff to share ongoing research through formal scientific presentations and poster sessions.
Each year, the Sandra L. Clark Lecture is given during this Retreat, with a speaker selected by the Immunology graduate students.
WEISER LECTURE
Since 1985, the annual Russell S. and Rae Weiser Endowed Lecture has featured leading immunological investigators. In general, this lecture is held during the early spring each academic year, as part of the Immunology Seminar Series.
SANDRA CLARK LECTURE
The Sandra L. Clark Immunology Education Fund provides support for the Clark Lecture to be presented at the Annual Department Retreat. Graduate students in the Department of Immunology select the speaker each year. In addition, this fund sponsors an award for Best Poster at the Annual Retreat.
